Imo the rufa soldiers should get some short-range burst damage spray attack similar to the one the adult coach horse beetles have just with raw damage instead of confuse) with a reasonable long cooldown (20 seconds or so) that would turn them into true assault units and make them worth building. They're fully sufficient as meat shield and neither the workers nor the soldiers do any amount of damage worth mentioning when compared to the shooters, so there isn't really any point in building soldiers at all when playing rufa (unless you're swimming in resources).
